This "Whole-body Vibration Calculator" allows:

  1. to compute/simulate the daily vibration exposure A(8) for different utilization time periods of a vehicle
  1. to combine exposure value obtained on several vehicles in order to get the global daily vibration exposure A(8). (E.g. driver using different vehicles during his/her work day/shift).

Measurement Time (MT)
This is the duration from the first time the driver sits to the last time he leaves its seat. The EVEC automatically measures this time period. The measurement time MT is given for information purposes only and does not directly influence exposure values.

Exposure Time (ET)
This is the time period when the driver is exposed to vibration during the measurement process. This is the measurement time (MT), minus time periods when the driver has left his/her seat, and minus unwanted effect time periods. The exposure time ET is automatically measured by the EVEC dosimeter.

Utilization Time(UT)
This is the time period when the driver uses the vehicle during his/her work day/shift (i.e. the time where he/she is actually present at its driving position). If the measurement is done during the whole utilization time of the vehicle by the driver during his/her work day/shift, the utilization time matches the exposure time (ET), which is then measured by the EVEC dosimeter. If the measurement is done during a part of the utilization time of the vehicle by the driver during his/her work day/shift, the utilization time (UT) must be estimated.
